What is Venetian plaster?

Venetian plaster is popularly also called polished plaster, marble plaster or Italian plaster, is a decorative plaster that is applied in multiple thin layers to give a marble-like and stone-like appearance to your walls and ceilings. It is made of marble dust and lime putty mixed with colour pigments to get vibrant colours and texture.

There are mainly three types of Venetian plaster wall finishes, which includes Marmorino, Scagliola and Sgraffito. They can produce classic matte, glossy and satin finishes based on the number of plastering layers applied to the walls.
